3:30 am came very early! We took the hotel shuttle to the airport, where we waited in long lines even though we checked in the day before. I had a bit of a meltdown when I found out that our "reserved" seats had been changed, and they were separating us on the plane. A few tears later and we were at least put by one another on the connecting flight. After we boarded the stewardess could see that I was stressed so she had Scott move by Chelsie and I. Wes and Kelly were together about 6 rows ahead of us. The first flight was a bit bumpy and I sat white knuckled most of the way. Luckily it was only a 40 minute flight to Phoenix where we changed planes. The flight to St Louis went smoother, but I still don't like flying. The kids all seemed to enjoy it.
We arrived in St Louis around 2:00. We picked up our rental car and headed to the Gateway Arch.
I figured 630 feet in the air would be nothing after the flight! Until I saw the "pods" you have to ride in to get to the top! They were a bit claustrophobic and warm....but we made it...the kids laughing at me the whole way!
Boy, today was a big day for me! We did have a great view of St Louis from the top. We saw Busch Stadium, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Mississippi River.

It was a beautiful day! We grabbed a few snacks then headed on to Nauvoo. We arrived there around 10pm. We were glad to be welcomed at a charming room at the Woodruff Hotel, which sat across the street from the temple. We had a lovely view!
