Merry Christmas to All!

'Twas the morning of Christmas, and all through the house

the children were giggling in hopes of waking mom and her spouse.

The stockings were hung and the lights were lit,

in hopes that Santa had brought a Wii fit.

O, Santa was good, that's not all he did bring.

candy and clocks, pjs and more, he thought of everything.

Opening the presents brought even more joy.

There were clothes and movies and many new toys.

Books and Itunes, and video games galore,

A fun filled afternoon is in store!

We will play and eat and enjoy our gifts.

Before long the day will end and to deep slumber we will drift!

We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas!

What does Chelsie want for Christmas?

I gave her a Target Ad to go through and circle some things that she wanted for Christmas.
The first page was pretty typical...Hannah Montana dolls.

The next item comes from having older tech savvy siblings and a dad who just got an Iphone.

Yes, an outrageous request for a 7 year old...but it's the next page that had me rolling on the floor laughing.

Since it was in the ad, she felt it was purchasable at Target...that's right, the live dog posing by the Milk Bone biscuits.
Wish as she may, that won't be coming true at our house! But none the less it was quite cute, and worth a posting!

4 Families, A gingerbread man, and a Tango

For Family Home Evening, 3 families joined us this week, the Hudsons, the Hoskins and the Miles. Jordon played Silent Night on the piano at a moment's notice--Thank you, it was beautiful and really added to the Spirit. We decorated gingerbread men--thanks Daleen, and chocolate trains. The kids ran around on a sugar high, while the adults caught up.
We watched the Luke II depiction of the nativity, which is short but very poignant. It helped us remember what this season of celebration is all about, and how thankful we are for a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son for us, to be an example, and to atone for our sins. We are eternally grateful.
We ended the evening watching the kids dance around, we especially enjoyed the tango and the can-can!

The Yellow Beast take a beating....

Wes spent the night at a friend's house on Friday night. He parked across the street. Saturday morning, his friend's dad backed into Wes' truck. Accidents happen! Lucky, their insurance is taking care of it right away, and hopefully we'll have it back in 2 weeks.

Gingerbread Girls and Guy

We spent a little time making a gingerbread house this morning. Chelsie was very excited, Kelly was picky about where all the candy went, and Wes was reluctant to participate, but by the end everyone was laughing and singing Christmas carols! And this year, our house's walls didn't cave in!

Fun find

I was uploading Kelly's pictures from her camera yesterday, and came across these pictures taken back in October one day when Chelsie had friends over to play. It was a fun surprise. Here they are being the cute little girls they are!

A to Z

For Kelly's birthday, we had an alphabet party. We assigned a different letter to each girl that was invited. We played charades and had a scavenger hunt all about the alphabet. Each girl "gifted" Kelly with something that started with "her" letter. Boy, does she have clever friends!!!

A is for Aeropostale, B is for Bath and body works, C is for calendar and candy canes, D is for Dog, E is for earrings, F is for frog, G is for Green (cash), H is for Hollister, I is for ice cream gift card frozen in ice, J is for Jamba Juice, K is for Kelly, L is for Love bag, M is for Mary Kate Makeup, N is for new Ctr ring since Kelly lost hers, O is for orange shirt, candy, and Odie, P couldn't make it, Q is for Quaker Oats: a lovely gift bestowed on her by her brother, we skipped R, S is for singing card and a starbucks card, T couldn't make it, U is for umbrella, V is for vase, W is for Wamu money hidden in a whip cream pie, X is for XOXO kisses and an american xpress card, Y is for yellow shirt ribbons and sharpie, and Z is for Zebra purse. I hope the girls had as much fun as we did planning this party...we're always looking for something a little bit different from the norm for parties!

Here's a picture of the giant cupcakes we made for the party.

Chuck E Cheese

May all your wishes come true!

Chelsie celebrated her birthday with her friends at Chuck E Cheese! She had a great time! I love the last picture of the girls in a group hug while Ethan longingly looks on.
