Day 5

We spent the morning with my family eating home cooked goodies and visiting. It's never too early in the morning for a Dexter Hickory Log rib! I miss those! Chelsie had fun making cookies with Grandma. Baby Jack is so sweet!

Even though I looked terrible, this is one of my favorite pictures!
Around noon we headed to Sikeston to meet my school friend Bridget and her family at Lambert's Cafe. It's actually been featured on the Food Network as the best place in America to pig out! They're famous for their throwed rolls!
We all got quite a kick out of this, nearly knocking over drinks (and those are some big drinks!) to catch one gone long!

Of course the shot I got was of another table, and Wes said my flash caused the lady to drop it, but I only felt bad for a second!

The food was fabulous, chicken and dumplings were my favorite! Wes even tried fried okra but quickly put that on his list of foods to never eat again! Even though frog legs and hog jowl were on the menu, we passed on those! After lunch, we headed to Poplar Bluff where I grew up.

Alot had changed in 15 years, since I had been there last! A ton of memories flooded my mind, it was definitely time for me to return for a visit. We headed to Bridget's little plot of earth next--a mere 20 acres in the country!

What a beautiful spot! We all had a blast, we all enjoyed playing outside, jumping on the trampoline, riding the 4 wheeler, and roasting hot dogs and smores in a bonfire! Thanks for your great hospitality Bridget, Chester, Aaron, and Austin! Oh I forgot to mention that Scott acquired a new skill that night....flashlight writing! Man his skillz are impressive!
